Touchscreens are mostly placed in public places for use. Due to environmental factors, human operation, and other reasons, some problems often arise during use, as follows.
1. After using for a period of time, there is no response when touched
(1) During long-term use of capacitive screen devices, static electricity accumulates on the screen and internal control circuits, causing the entire device to be covered in static electricity. If the grounding is poor, it can affect the normal operation of the screen, resulting in serious deviation or even failure of the touch screen. At this point, turn off the power of the device, discharge the internal and external grounding of the screen with wires, eliminate a large amount of static electricity, and then turn on the power of the device to restart.
(2) During operation, the sound wave touch screen may accumulate too much surface dust. If not wiped regularly, it will more or less block the reception and reflection of some sound waves, and also cause a decrease in the sensitivity of the screen, resulting in abnormal use. After shutting down, you can gently wipe off the dust on the screen surface and around it with a clean tissue or business card, and then restart the machine, which usually works normally.
2. Hardware related issues touch screen
Usually, signals are transmitted through serial ports. The working signal is taken from the PS2/port. If the indicator light is not on, it means that the signal has not been taken or the PS2/line on the control box may be broken. If the serial port is damaged or disabled, it will cause the driver program to fail to install, and the interface or lead can be replaced. If the screen is slightly deformed due to compression, it is because the touch area is pressed down by the monitor housing or cabinet housing, which can cause it to be unable to locate. The touch screen cursor remains at a certain point on the 4th side of the monitor. You can ask a professional to correct the monitor housing border or increase the distance between the cabinet and the display screen to solve this problem.
3. Other related issues
If the touch screen cursor only moves within a small area or the touch screen points incorrectly, you need to run the touch screen calibration program. After changing the display resolution, if you find that some areas of the touch screen cannot be touched at all, it may be that the touch screen is broken. Please replace the touch screen.
